Booming Foreclosure Rate Threatening All Americans

You may be able to make your house payments but the mortgage crisis can still impact your family. Desperate homeowners facing eviction many times resort to crime seeking money to keep the roof of their families head. This is especially true in areas with high unemployment.

Households across a majority of large U.S. cities received more foreclosure warnings in the first six months of this year than in the first half of 2009, new data shows.

The trend is the latest sign that the nation’s foreclosure crisis is worsening as homeowners battling high unemployment, slow job growth and an uneven rebound in home prices continue to fall behind on their mortgage payments.

In all, 154 out of 206 metropolitan areas with at least 200,000 residents posted an annual increase in foreclosure activity between January and June, foreclosure listing firm RealtyTrac Inc. said Thursday.

The firm tracks notices for defaults, scheduled home auctions and home repossessions — warnings that can lead up to a home eventually being lost to foreclosure.

The latest figures show the threat of foreclosures is spreading well beyond the top tier of metropolitan areas located in California, Florida, Nevada and Arizona, which have borne the brunt of the fallout from the housing crisis.

Japanese Oil Tanker Attacked Off Coast Of Iran

The Iranian government promised retaliation against any country joining in the extended sanctions against Iran. If Iran is attacking oil tankers in the Strait of Hormuz and disrupting the flow of crude expect an all out war. The United States has been looking for an excuse to liberate the Iranian oil fields and this attack would do the job.

An explosion, possibly caused by an attack, damaged an oil tanker on Wednesday near the mouth of the Persian Gulf, Japanese shipping company Mitsui O.S.K. Lines said.

The company said the blast on its tanker M. Star caused one minor injury, but did not cause an oil leak.

The ship was damaged due to “an explosion from a suspected attack from the outside” in the waters off Oman, near the strategically important Strait of Hormuz, the company said.

The strait leads into the Persian Gulf past Oman and Iran, and is a transit point for about 40 per cent of oil shipped by tankers worldwide.

“We believe it’s highly likely an attack,” Mitsui spokeswoman Eiko Mizuno said. “There is nothing that can explode in that part of the vessel.”

She said a crew member noticed a flash of light right before the explosion, raising the possibility of an attack.

Collecting Rainwater Illegal – Corporate Water Rights Protected

The laws were originally passed to protect ranchers water rights but over the years became more about protecting corporation who sell water to you. Your water bill would go down if you could actually use the rain to water your lawn and crops.

Many of the freedoms we enjoy here in the U.S. are quickly eroding as the nation transforms from the land of the free into the land of the enslaved, but what I’m about to share with you takes the assault on our freedoms to a whole new level. You may not be aware of this, but many Western states, including Utah, Washington and Colorado, have long outlawed individuals from collecting rainwater on their own properties because, according to officials, that rain belongs to someone else.

As bizarre as it sounds, laws restricting property owners from “diverting” water that falls on their own homes and land have been on the books for quite some time in many Western states. Only recently, as droughts and renewed interest in water conservation methods have become more common, have individuals and business owners started butting heads with law enforcement over the practice of collecting rainwater for personal use.

If you are in a state that bans Americans from using rainwater I would suggest an underground cistern attached to the house with a removable gutter. When it rains put the gutter in place and collect water but then remove the gutter on a clear day.

I actually live in a state where harvesting rain was illegal. I know the above method works.

Gamma-Ray Bursts Could Destroy Most Life On Earth

As far as doom scenarios go a Gamma-Ray burst destroying the majority of life on earth is pretty far down on the list. Even though the chances are remote, the destruction caused by this event and its devastating effect on the food chain warrants at least a quick glance.

Cosmic explosions thousands of light-years away could shut down photosynthesis in the ocean at depths of up to 260 feet, a new study suggests. The calculations add to a growing body of research linking these great blasts, called gamma-ray bursts, with biological damage and even mass extinctions on Earth.

Gamma-ray bursts are tremendous explosions detonated during a massive star’s death throes. When stars eight times the mass of the sun or larger reach the end of their lives, they die in spectacular supernova explosions that can temporarily outshine entire galaxies.

Under certain conditions — astronomers aren’t exactly sure what — all that energy can be concentrated into a tight beam extending like a spotlight away from the star. These bright beams, known as gamma-ray bursts, can last up to 10 seconds, and carry energies equivalent to billions of nuclear bombs going off at once.

And according to the new research, phytoplankton would not enjoy them. In a paper published on the astronomy preprint site arXiv.org, biologist Liuba Penate of the Universidad Central de Las Villas in Cuba and colleagues model the marine food web from plankton up if a gamma-ray burst were to strike.

Earlier research showed that the burst would trigger an ultraviolet flash at the Earth’s surface. Incoming gamma rays would smack electrons off of atoms in the atmosphere, which would knock secondary electrons off nearby atoms and trigger a cascade of bright light.

“You’d actually see a pretty bright flash,” said astronomer Brian Thomas of Washburn University in Kansas, who was involved in the earlier work. “If you’re standing outside looking up at the sky, you might well be blinded by this.”

Tragedy can strike at any time without warning. Whether it is a terrorist attack on an American dam or death raining from heaven you must always be prepared for the worst.

Two cricket fans enjoyment of a county cricket match was interrupted when a meteorite sailed towards the boundary ropes, hitting one man in the chest.

Jan Marszel, 51, and Richard Haynes, 52, were watching Sussex players Luke Wright and Monty Panesar bat when a black object soared towards them.

The rock, five inches in length and thought to be up to 4.5 billion years old, crashed into the ground and broke in two just in front of their seats square of the wicket.

Military Recalls All Crowd Control Pain Weapons To United States

Last week the United States military ordered all their humvee mounted crowd dispersing pain weapons stationed in Afghanistan redeployed to American soil. These Active Denial Systems were designed to breakup riots and control the population.

A ‘pain ray’ that blasts the enemy with unbearable heat waves has been pulled out of Afghanistan by the US military.

The Active Denial System (ADS), which cost about £42 million to develop, was on the brink of being deployed to disperse members of the Taliban as they attacked US forces.

The weapon, which causes immense pain to subjects but no lasting physical damage, was pulled from the war zone last week but US army chiefs in Afghanistan have stayed silent about the reason for the U-turn.

The ADS, which has been in development for almost 20 years, works by firing a beam of high-frequency waves at the speed of light.

The beam can cover a person’s entire body, causing agonizing pain as it heats water and fat molecules beneath the skin’s surface.

The beam can hit someone up to a third of a mile away, and they are only relieved of the pain when they move out of the way.

A spokesperson from the American Department of Defense said: ‘The decision to recall the weapons back to the US was made by commanders on the ground in Afghanistan.’

Why is the United States military redeploying these “pain rays” to American cities? These weapons were tested on the Taliban but of course were ultimately intended for use against rioting Americans. If the weapons were not effective they would retool them on site or destroy them not spend millions shipping them back to the U.S.

Millions In California Living Without Power Or Water

Millions of unemployed California residents are squatting in homes without electricity or water. Increasing utility bills have made it impossible for many residents, driven into poverty by the depression, to afford basic necessities of life. When it comes to paying the outrageous power bill or putting food on the the table you feed the family.

Fortunately you can live quite comfortably without grid attached power or running water. Humans have been doing it for thousands of years and billions of people in developing countries still live rewarding lives without electricity. I have been doing it for years thriving on a small solar power system and collecting rainwater for my daily needs. It is simple and anyone can do it.

Plan ahead now and the trauma attached to having your utilities shut off can be greatly minimized. Even if you can pay your utility bill the aging and unmaintained power grid in America could leave your family without electricity or water for extended periods of time.

Pick up a cheap solar power system for under $300 and make sure you can filter drinking water. Captured rainwater works fine for showers and laundry. Your showers may be cold but at least you won’t stink. The cheap solar power provides some lighting and laptops are easily charged with solar power so your the kids can do homework and your job search can continue.

Candles are fine for dinner parties but can you afford to purchase new ones every day? Lanterns are great for camping and emergencies but buying the unending supply of lamp oil for daily use gets expensive real fast.

The only other issue is human waste. Without running water your toilets will not flush! This could lead to problems real fast. Pick up a few 5 gallon buckets from the hardware store. You can pick up toilet seats fitted for 5 gallon buckets real cheap or just place a couple of short 2×4’s on top of the bucket for a seat. When you are finished cover your droppings with some dirt or ash then put a small square of plywood over the top. When the buckets are full you empty them on your compost heap. Police Raiding Organic Grocery Stores – Seizing Natural Foods

Humans have been consuming raw produce and dairy products for thousands of years. Now the government and their corporate masters want to take away your right to eat natural foods that have not been genetically modified, poisoned with hormones or exposed to radiation in the name of profit.

Like everything else in America our food supply has been taken over my multinational corporations. These corporations expect the government to support their profits by mandating that people only consume food grown on corporate farms. Soon eating natural foods will be illegal.

With no warning one weekday morning, investigators entered an organic grocery with a search warrant and ordered the hemp-clad workers to put down their buckets of mashed coconut cream and to step away from the nuts.

Then, guns drawn, four officers fanned out across Rawesome Foods in Venice. Skirting past the arugula and peering under crates of zucchini, they found the raid’s target inside a walk-in refrigerator: unmarked jugs of raw milk.

“I still can’t believe they took our yogurt,” said Rawesome volunteer Sea J. Jones, a few days after the raid. “There’s a medical marijuana shop a couple miles away, and they’re raiding us because we’re selling raw dairy products?”

Cartons of raw goat and cow milk and blocks of unpasteurized goat cheese were among the groceries seized in the June 30 raid by federal, state and local authorities — the latest salvo in the heated food fight over what people can put in their mouths.

On one side are government regulators, who say they are enforcing rules designed to protect consumers from unsafe foods and to provide a level playing field for producers. On the other side are “healthy food” consumers — a faction of foodies who challenge government science and seek food in its most pure form.

They want almonds cracked fresh from the shell, not those run through a federally mandated pasteurization process that uses either heat or a chemical to kill off salmonella and other possible contaminants. They hunger for meat slaughtered on the farm. And they’re willing to pay a premium — $6, $8 or more — for a gallon of milk straight from the cow.

So despite research outlining the dangers of consuming raw milk and other unprocessed foods, they’re finding ways to circumnavigate federal, state and local laws that seek to control what they can serve at the dinner table. Such defiance, they said, comes from growing distrust of a food sector that has become more industrialized and consolidated — and whose products have been at the root of some of the country’s deadliest food contamination cases.

“This is about control and profit, not our health,” said Aajonus Vonderplanitz, co-founder of Rawesome Foods. “How can we not have the freedom to choose what we eat?”

Corporations Lobby For Private Debtors Prisons

After the 2010 election corporations will launch an all out push for congress to institute some form of debtors incarnation where Americans are imprisoned and forced to work at slave wages to pay off their corporate creditors. This will finish the globalist agenda of reducing America’s working class to slave laborers on par with China.

In our modern era of debt servitude, a PR Push has been designed to reintroduce a serious discussion of debtors’ prisons as a sound solution. What goes beyond alarming is that the full-fledged return of debtors’ prisons might be seen as both appropriately terrifying, as well as a profitable investment opportunity and politically sound decision to be made by state governments struggling with their own looming bankruptcies, and a Federal government struggling politically with the concept of a jobless recovery that is not materializing.

A de facto debtors’ prison has already been largely accepted in the case of “deadbeat” parents when a failure to pay child support puts them in civil contempt of court. It is this civil contempt charge that is now beginning to take on an expanded definition to include those who owe for much smaller infractions. When a court order to pay a debt is issued and ignored, it then qualifies as a civil contempt of court. At that point, the judge becomes a literal dictator with the ability to imprison a person indefinitely for the violation. The Constitution explicitly prohibits incarceration for failure to pay debts, but it is the violation of a court order that gives judges free rein to impose draconian punishments. In this way, an end-run around the Constitution can become frighteningly commonplace.

America already has a record-high ratio of people in prison, with no signs of the trend reversing as private corporations like Wackenhut Corporation, referred to as a “Free Market in Human Misery,” have long been enlisted to turn government directives into shareholder profit. One might even deign to call it blatant fascism in its purest form, as government legislation leads offenders directly into private company coffers. The prison-industrial complex has already capitalized on government actions like The War on Drugs. A prime example is how The California Correctional Peace Officers Association helped fuel the prison-building boom as a cozy relationship was established on Capitol Hill through influence peddling.

Profiting from the suffering of the poor while bailouts and bonuses await the over-leveraged banksters, car companies, and state governments, sets up a prison-industrial complex with a class warfare component that is the domestic mirror of the military-industrial complex sent abroad. This domestic prison system seems to be the only industry left to build upon, and it is here that things become truly frightening. For the federally-owned prison system complex, Federal Prison Industries (UNICOR), more incarceration means a growing supply of cheap labor and a skewing of unemployment numbers, as these inmates are often doing jobs they couldn’t even find if they were job hunting on the outside. But it is the private prison system, with its web fully woven throughout the U.S. government, that stands to profit the most from the return of debtors’ admission.

The largest private prison conglomerate in the U.S. is Corrections Corporation of America (CCA), which controls more than 47% of all private prison and jail beds nationwide and is able to produce a 13-15% return annually on new real estate investments. Wackenhut (now subsumed into G4S, the largest security company in the world) was of course started by an FBI agent, George Wackenhut, who is famous for developing millions of dossiers on America’s “potential subversives” in the sixties, and was exposed as being an integral player within the shadow CIA.

These major security conglomerates are at the top of a growing pyramid of for-profit, international detention center operators that has Wall Street giants like Goldman Sachs simply fawning over the solid, long-term investment potential. Similar to war, when there is a profit to be made off of incarceration, only more incarceration can be expected to follow. The U.S. government certainly seems to be working hard to ensure that the numbers of poor continue to increase, as they are well aware that that programs designed to help the downtrodden are an abject failure every time. Furthermore, the massive government debts that must be repaid directly into the hands of the Federal Reserve-led banking cabal must lead us to an inescapable conclusion: More money is to be made from slavery in the United States, than from freedom.

We are seeing this slave labor being used right now as BP pays pennies on the dollar for inmate labor to clean up the oil disaster in the gulf even though there are millions of Americans out of work.

Hiring prison labor is more than a way for BP to save money while cleaning up the biggest oil spill in history. By tapping into the inmate workforce, the company and its subcontractors get workers who are not only cheap but easily silenced—and they get lucrative tax write-offs in the process.

Known to some as “the inmate state,” Louisiana has the highest rate of incarceration of any other state in the country. Seventy percent of its 39,000 inmates are African-American men. The Louisiana Department of Corrections (DOC) only has beds for half that many prisoners, so 20,000 inmates live in parish jails, privately run contract facilities and for-profit work release centers. Prisons and parish jails provide free daily labor to the state and private companies like BP, while also operating their own factories and farms, where inmates earn between zero and forty cents an hour.

Another Dam Destroyed – Lake Delhi, Iowa

The Lake Delhi, Iowa dam is the second American dam destroyed in the past four days.

In eastern Iowa, the Lake Delhi dam failed as rising floodwater from the Maquoketa River ate a 30-foot-wide hole in the earthen dam, causing water to drop 45 feet to the river below and threatening the small town of Hopkinton.

Lake Delhi was created in the 1920s by damming the Maquoketa River. The resort area now has about 700 cabins and homes.

Areas below and above the dam had been evacuated after heavy rain has pushed the river to 23.92 feet — more than 2 feet above its previous record of 21.66 feet in 2004.

Jack Klaus, a spokesman with the Delaware County emergency management office, said warning sirens sounded in Hopkinton as water began to surround homes Saturday afternoon.

“There’s going to be significant losses of property there,” Klaus said.

Donna Dubberke, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Davenport, said areas below the dam will see an initial crest in the river caused by the dam’s failure followed by a secondary crest as the high water above the dam made its way downstream.

“There will be initial wave from the sudden shot of water and a secondary shot behind it from the rainfall,” she said.

The wall of water created by a collapsed dam can quickly and without warning destroy any settlement downriver.

When I was younger I lived near Quincy, Illinois which is on the Mississippi river. The Mississippi has massive floods every 30 years or so. Anyway, the thing I remember about this particular flood stage was that people were cutting the earthen dikes that paralleled the river to hold the water back. Two people take a long piece of barbwire and saw through an earthen dike down to the normal river stage. During a flood the water starts to trickle through the unnoticeable sawline and quickly washes open a massive hole.

It is to early to tell if someone is targeting American dams and destroying them with dynamite or other tactics but if you live in the flood plains below a dam be on heightened alert.
