Placing black boxes in every car is not about road safety or saving money on insurance rates. These spy boxes will allow the police or any company to track you in real time recording everything you do and disable your car when ever the corporate police state decides to bring you in. It will also allow the accessing of GPS based road taxes where corporation can tax you on how far and where you drive.
Any insurance rate drop will evaporate within a year as your premiums will go up for other reasons. Plus the insurance company can sell the tracking data to marketing firms or even repo and collection agencies.
Intelligent cars fitted with aircraft-style black boxes that can send video footage and information about driving behavior during accidents to the police and insurance companies are being developed by computer scientists.
The car, which is being developed by researchers at computer chip giant Intel, will record information about the vehicle speed, steering and braking along with video footage from inside and outside the vehicle.
This would be automatically sent to police and insurance companies in the event of an accident to make it easier to determine the cause of car crashes and identify the person responsible.
“The intelligent vehicle is what we are talking about here. Once a car is connected, more or less on a continuous basis, all sorts of interesting possibilities present themselves.
Insurance companies are expected to welcome on-board car systems that will reduce the risk of accidents.

Personally I don’t want my truck continuously talking to the police department, insurance company or any third party they choose to share the data with. I will stick with my 79 Ford F250.
