Today, the prospects of nuclear war have increased in probability. But more likely than not it will be a limited war rather than a global one. Not guaranteed, but then what is anymore? Most likely we’ll just get a Chernobyl amount of fallout and die in our fifties rather than sixties, assuming we avoid ending up in the stewpot. But the old complaint still seems to be there. Oh my goodness gracious, how can I be expected to live like a primitive POOR person? Do without my grid and central heat and SUV, sucking at the corporate teet to sustain myself in high style? Never. I would never live primitively, pouring water out of a jug and putting on a sweater to stay warm. I’ll just stay in the city and have every convenience. If the end comes I’ll just bug out to my summer estate in my armored limo. People have gone from not wanting to live like chemo patients to not being able to conceive of living without luxuries. How friggin sad. We have become so conditioned to living an overfed and bloated existence with everything at push button control, we don’t want to survive its end. Live on grain and beans? Inconceivable! If I can’t have my freeze dried canned food I don’t want any at all.
