Utah Preppers: Thoughts on Food Storage

Thoughts on Food Storage | Utah Preppers
This message is actually some commentary to reply to a recent posting by a “Hoser That’s Not My Brother“. Since he decided to take his food-snobbery into an area that I care more than a little about, I thought I’d give a few opinions. Please go read his bit first, and then come back here and this will make a lot more sense. Actually, from other discussions, much of what I have to say is in agreement with the hoser, but I do hope to clarify some points, and give my opinion on others.

R.E.A.L. Survivability: Happy Ammo Day

R.E.A.L. Survivability: Happy Ammo Day
Happy Ammo Day, Merry Bullets and a good day on the firing range to all. Here is one holiday that I can get behind and avoid my normal holiday gloom. In the spirit of the day, I helped a friend to buy some ammo by buying a rifle from him. It was a win-win situation, he got cash to buy ammo with and I got another Mosin Nagant 91/30. I swear those old Russian rifles are addictive. The guns themselves are cheap and the ammo isn’t bad either. I found a place where I can get 1200 rounds for $300.

Notes From The American Outback: A Gift

Notes From The American Outback: A Gift
Nice gift today from the Great Spirit, for which I am grateful.

It’s been a while since I’ve done a belly-crawl stalk, but this one seemed to work. I’m also pleased that it was an excellent, clean kill. He was lying on a south-facing hillside and when the bullet struck he simply dropped his head and then rolled onto his side. Nine points and about 170 field dressed. Not a trophy like the other guys got, but I’ve never been a trophy hunter. This one has given me the gift of good meat for some time to come and I am grateful to him.
