Total Survivalist Libertarian Rantfest: Top 10 Gadgets For Survivalists

Total Survivalist Libertarian Rantfest: Top 10 Gadgets For Survivalists
We love cool SHTF stuff and I decided to put together a list of the top 10 gadgets. I used the term somewhat loosely with a focus on low priced stuff that fits our needs very well or in a novel way. As most of you know I tend to attempt to quantify things that are labeled as such. The following are the criteria used to assess the gadgets:

No Nanny State - Molon Labe!: Gun Shop Report

No Nanny State - Molon Labe!
I went to my local gun shop today. I’ve been looking to add another 9mm to my collection.

The stories in the news are true: Guns are selling like hot cakes since Barry became da Prez. I was in this shop about 2 weeks ago, and they had 50 or so hand guns on display. Today, there were 20, tops. Thankfully, the one I wanted - a small Glock 26 (Baby Glock) - was still in stock.

Here’s a tip: If you’re thinking of selling any guns, now is the time. They had 5 or 6 second-hand guns, and they were all only $50 below the price of a new gun. I’m sure the seller isn’t making all of that money, but I’ve got to believe the amount is greater than normal.

Keep It Simple Survival!: Got Spam?

Keep It Simple Survival!: Got Spam?
Hmmmmm…. Seems like maybe the sheeple are waking up a bit, eh? Either that, or redneck cuisine is “in” now…. Nyuck nyuck nyuck. Hey, get that cane away from me! What can I say, these are the jokes you get here, and that’s why I ain’t a comedian……

Stocks took it on the chin again today. More and more companies are holding their hands out to the fedgov bailout. Retailers going bankrupt, a month before Christmas no less…. OPEC is squirmin’ under oil prices droppin’ like a stone (everybody say “awwwwwwww, poor OPEC”). Sniff, sniff…… Smell that? Smells like a depression comin’ on. I told you a few months ago, right here, that Christmas was gonna be the straw that breaks the camel’s back, and don’t it look like things are headin’ in that direction. This winter is gonna be dismal for the bid’ness folk. And all of it will continue in one big chain reaction until the economy takes one last ragged breath, then goes belly up. Declining sales of Chinese crap, more layoffs, folks puttin’ the clamps on their spending. Hell, they’re stockin’ up on Spam! If that don’t tell ya sumthin’………

bison survival blog: better bike bargain
Ive covered this before, somewhat. And a loyal minion expanded on it in the comments section. But why not put it all together, shall we? Then after that is done well have some fun with more conspiratorial ramblings. I used to be of the “use it up and replace it” school of thought on crap from China. It used to be that a bicycle from China-Mart cost $60 for this article and for all my writings when I say bike I mean a single speed pedal brake, just like the Schwinn you had as a kid- to my mind geared bikes are overly complex and unnecessary unless you earn money from them and to replace the rear wheel it cost $50. It made little sense to take the bike to the shop, just replace the whole thing. Now, a rear wheel cost $70 but a new bike is $95. It no longer makes as much sense to treat it as disposable.
