SHTFBlog.com: Internet and Television Broadcast Data Mining for Spies and Hurricane Ike People

Internet and Television Broadcast Data Mining for Spies and Hurricane Ike People
Shhhhhh! They’re reading this - the computers . . . scanning for any juicy TEOTWAWKI gossip. Well, that’s what you could believe based on this article in the Washington Post that talks about a recent trade conference that was organized by the Office of the Director of National Intelligence to promote open sources of information as part of their intelligence gathering process. Your tin foil hat won’t even protect you from this one. It wasn’t exactly clear what they intend to collect or how, but I imagine it’d be something that mines computers (much like Google) for internet sites, correspondence, etc. for certain key words and phrases. Then systems must follow links here, there and everywhere to get a picture on what is going on, could go on, or has gone on. Whether that be foreign terrorist threats or some threat at home. Trust me, they’re not using paid government employees to surf internet sites and take notes. It’s all automated, I’m sure.

Hauling stones up a pyramid, freemason, or general contractor building the new 4th Baptist Church in a field twenty miles from town - all same thing, toil for chow. But the Burp I’m talking about is that for the last 60 years or so on the timeline of man food clothing and shelter are a given. No real effort involved. 40 hours a week punching buttons at a 7-11 gets you and your family a climate controlled room with kitchenette a palace by third world standards, a borgasmorg of beans, rice, canned veggies and your animal protein of choice, a new pair of shoes and sturdy clothes every year. “You want some fries with that?” does not constitute effort. not by historical standards in any place and time.

Handmaiden’s Kitchen: Beans: A roof over your stomach

Handmaiden’s Kitchen: Beans: A roof over your stomach
I was reading Tortilla Flat by John Steinbeck yesterday. It’s about a rather lovable group of paisanos, bums, out in Monterey California. The paisanos had decided to help out a widow lady with eight kids, so they went to work thiev…ur…gathering food for her and her family. You see, usually the lady and her kids would go out and glean the bean fields, winnowing the chaff of bean plants and pods that had already been harvested by the farmer. They usually got hundreds of pounds of beans this way, and this was the family’s food. However, this year the bean harvest was ruined by rain and the lady’s family was facing starvation… so the boys took up steali…er…gathering food for them.
