Total Survivalist Libertarian Rantfest: Precious metals and prepping in a Marriage
Our economic situation is bad and there is a good chance it can get worse. This situation is getting me more and more concerned about having some tangible assets. Also as I move around and go to Germany precious metals is something I will be able to continue. I have made a couple of moderate sized purchases to date but nothing really significant. I would like to have a few months worth of living expenses in silver and gold on hand.

I pass homeless people on the streets of my city, I’ve walked through local forests helping with a homeless count, I’ve camped numerous times in the wilderness by choice, but fortunately I have never been homeless. Since we need to be prepared for anything and since being homeless is a reality that many people are currently facing in our country, I figured now is a good time to find out how others do it. Mostly they seem to be creative, often they just get back to basics, looking for a dry place to sleep. Keeping a low profile and blending in also seem to help. Here’s some ideas:

As evidence builds of the earth entering a dramatic cooling trend, another scientist has gone public with his conviction that we are about to enter a new ice age, rendering warnings about global warming fraudulent and irrelevant.

Victor Manuel Velasco Herrera of the Institute of Geophysics at the University of Mexico states that “In about ten years the Earth will enter a “little ice age” which will last from 60 to 80 years and may be caused by the decrease in solar activity,” according to a report in the major Mexican newspaper Milenio Diario.

Sunshine: This isn’t so much a SHTF movie but a “how Earth reacts to a global SHTF scenario”. It’s years in the future and the sun is dying. Somehow the human race lasted up to that point and they have a plan to kickstart it. A few years earlier they had sent a mega nuke to try to make it happen but the mission failed. The second mission was their last chance since they used the last of their resources this time around. The entire movie takes place on a space ship headed for the sun and they have to deal with several problems along the way. I thought it was good and you might like it.
