Thanks much for the exceptional information you provide. Your book “Patriots” and your site have been tremendously helpful in my preparation efforts. I’m not there yet, but well on the way.
As far as a retreat location goes, I’ve heard you and others cautioning folks away from poorer areas. I think you might want to re-think this somewhat, and for one simple reason: Poor folks are already used to doing without.

I think it prudent to talk about familyism at this point. The nuclear family is Pa and Ma and the kids. With a survival group it is the same way only bigger. More people involved. It is sorta like sitting down to dinner with with 50 people at a picnic table. It has to be a long picnic table!

Passengers said they had just reboarded the bus following a break when the suspect — for no apparent reason — stabbed the man sitting next to him dozens of times as passengers fled in horror. He then severed the man’s head, displayed it and began hacking at the body.

Li’s employer said in an interview Saturday that he was shocked to learn that his “model employee” had been accused of the grisly attack. Vincent Augert, an independent contractor who distributes newspapers in Edmonton, said that Li was one of his most reliable carriers.

“He was very punctual and always cleanly dressed,” he told The Associated Press. “He was a very nice, polite guy. We would’ve had no reason to let him go before all this happened.”

Survivalists don’t take public transportation exactly for this reason.  You lose control of your surroundings and could be eaten by your seat mate…can’t wait till this gets made into a movie.
