Suburban Preparedness and Suburban Survival: California Earthquake

California Earthquake « Suburban Preparedness and Suburban Survival
As many of you know I am taking the California State Bar so I have not been blogging with frequency. I promise that will change soon and the suburban preparedness movement will be back on schedule.

A couple important things to note about the So. Cal tremor; there were water disruptions and gas lines broken. This was a mild quake folks, they can get MUCH LARGER. 5.4 is NUTHIN!!!

How to Store Ammunition:

The first option is to store the ammunition in its original cartons. If you have a dry place away from extreme heat, this will work for a short time. Usually months to years. However, if you have humidity, there is a danger of the ammo, interchangeable with ammunition, corroding or rusting.

Keep It Simple Survival!: One Of Those Days……

Keep It Simple Survival!: One Of Those Days……
Yup, it’s one of those days. But lemme give many thanks to Mark for his generous donation! Nothing but the same old crappy news, we’ve slid another foot or two down the slope into oblivion….. I got no inspiration today. Work today was pure drudgery. I had to blow 25 bucks and a couple hours of cussin’ to replace a tie rod end on the Jeep that the lousy roads around here destroyed. I had two choices at the parts house, a Moog part for $109, or the made in China piece of crap that won’t last 2 years for 25 bucks….. Well, you already know the route I went on that one. Guess I’ll be replacin’ it again in a year or two, that is if there’s still gas for under $10 a gallon then.

From what I understand, Propane combusting vehicles are not as popular in the USA as they have been in Canada, not to say we have a large amount of them running on streets, however, they are here and they are available. I’m looking at a EMP proof vehicle right now which happens to be a 1985 Chevy, 4×4, 1/2-Ton which has been converted to propane. Are their any issues with this that you may or may not be aware of as an EMP proof convertible vehicle?
