The Market Oracle: Fannie and Freddie Bailout Trigger New Chapter in American History

Fannie and Freddie Bailout Trigger New Chapter in American History :: The Market Oracle :: Financial Markets Analysis & Forecasting Free Website
At present, the best the government can do for housing and the economy is to leave both alone, cease interference in the free market, restore sound money, and allow capitalism to work.

Unfortunately, the laws of capitalism are now demanding that home prices continue to fall precipitously. But, based on the speed in which our government, public and financial institutions are willing to abandoned free market principals at the first whiff of economic pain, the likelihood that this impulse will take hold is increasingly remote. So hunker down as the United States finds itself on the express track to state socialism with Paulson’s Bazooka locked, loaded and pointed right at us. When the government pulls the trigger the blast will blow the dollar, and what’s left of our capitalist economy, to smithereens.

Notes from the Bunker: Choosing an AR-15

Survival & Emergency Preparedness: Choosing an AR-15
My rifle is a Colt AR-15A3 Tactical Carbine. The one feature I may
change on it is the barrel, it’s a 1:9 twist HBAR. I’d prefer a
lightweight 1:7 twist barrel. Based on what I’ve read by instructors
who see lots of ammo go downrange, Colts tend to be the most reliable
of the major manufacturers. You pay a premium but on a defensive
rifle reliability is the single most important factor.

TEOTWAWKIAIFF: One-Upsmanship

TEOTWAWKIAIFF: One-Upsmanship
Well over at Suburbanprepper he had a good idea for an intruder detection system, by using the little snaps that kids toss on the sidewalk. A great idea, except as everything seems to be it’s illegal in Mass, I need to come up with something else. Yes, snaps are illegal here. But if your gay you can marry… go figure.

So to 1-up my fellow blogger I present to you two ideas for us nanny-state prisoners. Those would be bubble wrap and beer cans.

Survivalist Blog: Fresh Water Tank

Fresh Water Tank | Survivalist Blog
In the process of installing their fresh water tank, they coated the interior of the tank with concrete (a thin coating) and I had the impression they expected this treatment to keep their water tasting fresh during their long (2 yr?) voyage.
