Staying Alive: HOLODOMOR

Staying Alive: HOLODOMOR
The Soviet government confiscated all the grain produced by Ukrainian farmers, withheld other foodstuffs, executed anyone trying to obtain food, and punished those who attempted to flee. As a result, in the land called the Breadbasket of Europe, millions of men, women, and children were starved to death.

Stalin boasted privately that 10 million people – 25% of Ukraine’s population – had perished during the Holodomor. At least 3 million of the victims were children.

SHTFBlog.com: How to Store Dried Beans for 143 Years

How to Store Dried Beans for 143 Years
Yeah right storing beans, while that information might be useful, writing such a post would excite me about as much as . . . well it wouldn’t excite me at all. Describing the intricacies of corrugated cardboard would be more exciting. The truth is, I don’t have a specific topic for today’s post, just a medley of misc. SHTF sweetness. PLUS - I figured maybe with that post title I might make the list at survivalistnews.com, since my posts like the AR-15 DeWalt Nail Gun and “Buns and Guns” don’t make the site. Nope . . . . . maybe if I’d written YET ANOTHER post on the declining economy I’d have received a link. Hmmmm . . . the economy sucks or . . . . Buns and Guns . . . . lol, seriously, though. I do appreciate the survivalistnews links . . . when I get them.

Strange, I also cut an article about a cat eating it’s own shit yesterday, it was interesting but really had nothing to do with survival preps.   Restaurants in Beirut and fake nail guns are really not the articles I am looking for.  If you have nothing to say then say nothing.  You are usually a lot of fun by the way.  I really liked the trapping articles…functional and informative.

The Market Oracle: Nationalization Fiasco Forced Upon US Economy, US Dollar and Gold

Nationalization Fiasco Forced Upon US Economy, US Dollar and Gold :: The Market Oracle :: Financial Markets Analysis & Forecasting Free Website
Hurricane Katrina and the Endless War amply demonstrate that priorities have shifted toward private profiteering and corruption being the primary priority for national leaders. People will not stand in bread lines, but rather break into supermarkets in search of food. Home ownership was not at any lofty figure back seven decades ago. People now will continue to lose their homes at the tune of 7000 per day due to foreclosure in the Untied States, the current tragic pace. The housing market will continue down, led by endless growth in unsold inventory. The advent will dawn on the bankers, lawmakers, and key investors that Fannie Mae is sitting on a treasure trove of income potential, IF ONLY the acidic agency can rent its foreclosed properties instead of attempt to sell them on an already depressed bloated market. The Fannie Rentals will emerge as a business segment.

Great Article

Total Survivalist Libertarian Rantfest: Everyday Automobiles 2: Mindset
So you have been good preppers and took the advice in my post yesterday to heart (if you didn’t already do that stuff). Your car is well maintained with a good county map at least a half of a tank of gas at all times in addition to a GHB and (within your areas laws) some sort of a weapon. These things are all great but not much can be done without the right mindset.

comrade simba: Opinion on the Tomato

comrade simba » Blog Archive » Opinion on the Tomato
Webster says either fruit or vegetable - I say it’s food. Two schools of growers, also, the Fussy Stakers and the to hell with ‘em crowd. I start out every year as the former, and switch to the later right about now. Those beautiful open pollinated Peron Sprayless heirlooms are scraggling up the wire trellises but the idiot planted paste jobs and volunteers from last year’s rot tosses are holding their own against 4 foot weeds. I just discovered more of them today hacking a path to where I could see some more cucumbers poking up through the poke weeds. Since this phenomena has occurred every year I’m of the opinion that timing is everything.

Thanks Comrade!
