We all know about the beans, bullets, and band-aids by now, or should, and stocking the basics. Let’s not forget there will be other items that are going to be needed as well. These should be considered basic need items. Just as you need to eat, protect you and yours, and take care of medical problems, you’re going to have to protect that body of yours also. The human body doesn’t fair too well on average without protective gear, i.e. clothes, head coverings, and footwear.

But now he is playing around with the Earth’s security, namely it’s ability to feed itself and make it’s trucks run and it’s ocean liners carry freight. And that can get you killed. In the real world, if you mess with certain people and their economics, you can catch a bullet. Right in the head.

We all need our reality checks. Our minds envision all types of survival scenarios, but the truth is once the reality sets in, it will be different than what we will envision. The envisioning is the way we trick ourselves into preparing. Now I am not saying this is bad, it’s the way things work. Ever planned a weekend and it didn’t turn out the way we envisioned it ? Of course this happens all the time. So come TSHTF then we can expect it to be different than how we thought it would be. We can easily forget the little details about how the stifling heat and humidity will affect us. How bad the insects will be. How the hunger will affect us as we scavenge for food. How out of shape we might be and how it will impact our survival.

The ironic thing is that the American taxpayer has just been called in to bail out Saudi Arabia’s sovreign wealth fund, China’s Central Bank, and other sophisticated, international investors that currently hold more than half of Fannie and Freddie’s debt. How is that ironic? Glad you asked.
