The American Energy Crisis: The Gravy Train is Dead
As energy and food prices continue their spiral, these homes will by necessity be abandoned. The financial shock if this scenario is even close to accurate will bring the U.S. economy into an economic contractionary period not seen since the 1930’s. I think the issue now is the “rate of change”, and my money is on an acceleration in the decline of tax dollars, decline in employment, decline in home prices, and decline in energy availability.

Having a ready to use source of ammunition, is important insurance against the day of need. We can own the best weapons and gear, but without a source of usable ammunition, all we have is an expensive club. Insuring our supplies will be ready to use tomorrow or fifty plus years from now should be a top priority for the survival minded person.

Oh, by the way, did anybody else catch that 20/20 broadcast that talked about predicting the weather over a year in advance? What I found really interesting about this is how they can know the expected temperature range. Apparently, some really big corporations are paying really big bucks for this predictive report. They went on to show that they can for example, expect to sell “15,000 additional units (cans) of soup” for every 1 degree temperature rise.

It seems like the rush for CASH is starting. Depositors are starting to pull their money out of the banks and stores are offering deep discounts and unheard of specials for this time of year. The news is full of all kinds of job lay-offs (including management), store closings and slumping sales figures for businesses of all types.
